Strudel is a type of pastry, usually sweet, although salty versions are also quite popular, which consist of several layers of thin dough ended with filling and converted into a protocol shape. Apple Strudel is perhaps the most common type, especially in some regions, such as the United States (US), although many different steps are common and popular in European countries such as Germany, Austria, Hungary and the Czech Republic. Different steps have been made for hundreds of years and are probably an Austrian interpretation of meals in the Middle East, such as Baklava. Strudel has become quite popular in other regions and it is official pastry, along with Sopaipilla , the American state of Texas.
