What is Cheez Whiz®?
Cheez Whiz®, the icon of the midnight refreshment world, is actually considered to be a "processed cheese sauce" by its creator Kraft Foods. Kraft Foods introduced the product in 1952, although its popular predecessors, the stronger processed cheese food called Velveet®, has been on shops from the age of 20. While Velveet® worked well in recipes that required cheese that could be melted, it remained relatively solid at room temperature. By adding various stabilizers and extensions, Kraft's food producers were able to create a cheese sauce that would still be soft at room temperature. In the case of Cheez Whiz®, the MPC is primarily used to remove some of your own problems of cheese solids. When milk is filtered through an ultra -fine network, the result is a concentrated form of milk protein, which has the ability to lock more whey and water than traditional cheese proteins. However, the MPC has not been approved as a food additive, however, is the US government, so its continuing use is somewhat controversial.
