What is curly endive?

Curly Endive, also sometimes called frisee or chicory, is a bitter dark leaf green used in salads and other meals. Like other endives, Curly Endive has a sharp, bitter taste that significantly increases the taste of green salads, although some consumers consider it disgusting. Some markets and green machines are curly and often occur through commercial distributors of products for the use of a restaurant. Green can also be grown at home.
