What is an egg salad?
One popular type of cold -ready salad contains chopped hard boiled eggs, cucumber, salt, pepper and generous supply of mayonnaise and/or yellow mustard. Egg salad is often served as a side dish in a buffet or covered dinner as well as a cold salad in picnics and grilling. Some people prefer to eat parts of egg salad on points crack or toast, while others spread a generous part between two slices of bread and form an egg salad sandwich. Because individual eggs may not bring too much product, it is not uncommon for recipes to require at least dozen eggs cooked, peeled and coarse chopped. White and egg yolks are incorporated into the finished egg salad. Most recipes require the addition of hilly pleasure or finely chopped cucumber. If sodium is a problem, generous sprinkling of dried dill would function as a replacement. Some may prefer fine dill cubes while others may prefer larger cucumber cubes to SALÁTA.
The egg mixture and pleasure can be flavored with some salt and/or crushed black pepper. Some traditional recipes require a generous supply of mayonnaise to mix with a mixture of eggs, while others require a mixture of mayonnaise and mustard similar to mustard potato salad. Eggs and bandages are carefully mixed until the entire mixture has a creamy consistency.
The egg salad is particularly popular as a replacement for processed cold cuts. There are a number of nutritional advantages of egg salad, including significant protein levels. Fat levels can be controlled using low -fat or fat -free dressings, and the alternative version can only be used to rose the total amount of cholesterol in the prepared salad using egg whites.Egg salad should always be cold because it can spoil very easily when it is held from a temperature for more than an hour. Egg salad can also have a relatively short life, sothat it should be consumed within a few days of preparation. If it has an unpleasant odor or appearance, it should be immediately fired. Older egg salad may have to be revitalized before serving another mayonnaise, but otherwise it should prove to be a popular attachment at each dinner picnic or Potluck.
