What is garlic?

The herb is a plant whose leaves, seeds or flowers are used to flavor food or in medicine. Other uses of herbs include cosmetics, dyes and perfumes. The name comes from the Latin Herba , which means "green crops".

garlic ( allium sativum ) is from the family Alliceae as its close relatives of chives, leeks and onions. The edible herb most commonly connected with the name is the garlic clove, which is located underground, under leaf growth similar to a pore. Hardneck and Softneck are two basic varieties. One of the key differences is that Hardneck sends a stem of flowers, called creatures, which is another edible part of the plant. Stack is less known in the US, probably because most of the cultivated commercial use is Softneck. It was used for the culinary and medical purposes of Thhormout History, and also has the reputation of the repellent of irritating substances from mosquitoes to vampires. Gilroy, California is celebrated as the "garlic capital of the world" and in fact about 90%that was grown in the US,is grown in California.

Description. Garlic bulb, composed of 4-60 cloves, can have a diameter of 1.5 to 3 inches (4 to 7.5 cm) and grow to a height of 10 inches up to 5 feet (10 cm to 1.5 m). Flowers are white with roses or green cast. The bulbs themselves are creamy white and can have a purple shade, as a paper cover that surrounds the bulb and closes every clove.
