What is Gimbap?
from the coastal city of Chungm, Korea, Chung Gimbap or Gimbap is a light food that includes rice, vegetables and proteins rolled in or seaweed. In its earliest form it was simply seasoned rice rolled in GIM, but since then it has evolved, now it is very similar to sushi and served with pickled Korean radish and children's octopus. Also known as kimbap food has changed from the original form and popular variations include naked and samgak . It is assumed that Gimbap comes from the Korean food called Bokssam , which means "happy wraps". BoksSam is produced by wrapping vegetable leaves around cooked meat and food is consumed with spicy sauce such as ssamjang , which is made from typical Korean ingredients, including gochujang and doenjang
