What is nata de coco?
nata de Coco , which is translated in English into a coconut cream, is a food product similar to jelly popular in the Philippines and other South Asian countries. Despite its name, it is not nata de Coco cream, but rather a clear solid. The creamy link is most likely due to the key component nata de Coco, coconut milk or coconut water. When milk or water is fermented, the milk or water forms cream solids that are tight, rinsed and pushed into the mass. Cut into cubes, this mass becomes nata de coco and looks forward to a dessert, as an ingredient for drinks and as a decoration for many regional Asian dishes.
The Philippine chefs were produced by nata de Coco for generations and the process has changed over the years.
