What is steamed pudding?

Many Americans are not familiar with the pudding, although they could be served in a restaurant or as a guest and considered it a type of cake. The steamed pudding begins with a thick, sweet batter, which is poured into a reserved pudding mold or other containers treated to suit the purpose and cooking by steaming with hot water. Unlike a much newer creamy pudding, steamed puddings have a long and respected history in the UK and Europe. These puddings that came from the UK are built on the foundations of flour, cereals or other grains with butter and in the case of sweet stews, sugar, melaly or honey. A number of dried and candied fruit are attached, most often raisins, currents and plums or cherries. Chefs often add nuts, nuts, almonds or other nuts.

Most recipes require sirloin or other steaks, as well as beef or lamb kidneys, mushrooms, onions and flour. This type of steamed pudding often contains mushrooms and dark beer in addition to choosing fresh or dried herbs such as rosemary and thyme.
