What is undhiyu?
undhiyu is a mixed vegetable saucepan, which is one of the most famous Gujarati meals from India. It is made of stuffed vegetables and dumplings of whistle, which are cooked in a tasty green masala sauce. It can be served as a side dish, but is often served with rice as a main meal. While recipes may be slightly different from family to family or chefs by chef, they all share a spicy masala taste. There are three main parts that have undhiyu, namely vegetables, dumplings and sauce. Vegetables may include eggplant, also known as eggplants, as well as potatoes, yarn, SURTI PIPDI , type of beans, green beans and bananas. Plantains is a solid banana that is often used in cooking, and Undhiyu, usually used when they are still slightly green. Recipes can again differ from chef. Ingredients are mixed together and the dough is rolling into mAlo balls and deep fried. Dumplings are usually cooked in front of the rest of the bowl and are added to it at the end of the cooking process.
The real flavor of Undhiyu is in the sauce. The ingredients may again differ, but generally include a number of spices including coriander, ginger, chili, garlic, cumin, turmeric and coconut. All this is combined into a paste that is three on vegetables and placed in slots made in vegetables.
Traditionally, food was cooked in a clay pot, and this is still happening in some restaurants. The vegetables are laminated and cooked in a clay pot or pan over a slight heat. The water is added to the sauce. Once the vegetables are softened, the dumplings are added and carefully mixed to spread evenly. The food is served either with rice or flat bread and is a popular hot meal during the colder winter months due to its spicy taste.
Commercial Undhiyu Mix is available in sentencesShine of international supermarkets. It comes with vegetables and muthiya or dumplings, pre -made and frozen. This provides an alternative to cooking Undhiyu from scratch, especially in places where it may be difficult to find ingredients.
